I speak Dutch almost accent free
But my friend laughs and begs to disagree
Then he cons me into a little bet
Forget about the 'de' and 'het'
Just repeat what I say, and get it right
And I will pay for the drinks tonight
"Ik hou van jou Scheveningen"
I take a deep breath and ready to go
I clearly say "Ik hou van jou
Skevningen,……Srevendingen….Skreven"
Stuff it, I lost the bet
I probably also confuse 'de' and 'het'
Accents are cute, if you like that sort of thing
Perfectionist like me wants to say Shrevendingen
Dammit!!!!

  Damitt him for not listening to your "Ik hou van jou", in Vlaanderen zeggen ze " ik zie je graag" is breder, kan je nog meer kanten mee uit.
