Message gone
I heard your voice so clear in the night
the message was important and I held it for a while
then it disappeared like a dream diffused, I lost the grasp
of what you said, can only remember how loaded it felt
Your return so near but only trepidation and fear
permeate my being, apprehension bordering on panic
that nothing goes wrong, before you are back in the swarm
to take your rightful place, in the long and empty space
I will be waiting to hear the word sent, heard then unheard
you verbalize so well, and though you may never tell
which, I guess is fine, and I will forget about it in a while
but for you I will be elated, I heard your voice in the night
