Infatuated Lunatic
Blinding emotions leave me frail and insecure
what are the answers to the bombardment of issues
which continue to befall my reality in ways so uncanny
bizarre reactions, or none at all, cannot be calibrated.
No science has the answer to the matters of the heart
a bypass would give no relief to the sting of passion
sharp, it can uplift or destroy and keep one locked
away from a different authenticity, one might even enjoy.
Listen heart, are you smarter than I, can you override
every intellectual decision made, dexterously beating you
cunning collaborator, turning wisdom into nonsense
sagacity into bad judgment, you infatuated lunatic.
Giver of life, and controller of dissension!
