Poltergeist
Caught you today when you spooked around the room
looking for something to move to make me swoon
saw you flash by, ethereal, moving real fast
you've been around a while, but I saw you at last
why don't you come and rest a while beside me here
tell me what's your problem, I am all ear
stop the nonsense I'm not afraid of you
you've been around too long, it's nothing new
you turn on the video recorder although it's unplugged
when I didn't pay attention, my hair you gently tugged
moving my books or fluttering the pages to give me a fright
shaking my curtains in the middle of the night
you move so fast I never caught you in the act
and no-one believes me that you exist in fact
only my dog's hairs stand when through the room you haste
she and I know when you're around my little poltergeist
