Let Me Disturb You
Let me disturb you for a while, take your peace of mind
I will show you your shadow dancing beside you
mocking the incomprehensible, the route will be unsigned
take my cold hand and let me drain your heat
show you a chasm so deep, you feel the pull down
make you shiver with trepidation, feed fear to your heart's beat
if you dare, come along on this journey, to another side
hear the dead silence of nothingness, in a crowded room
the scream of terror, in an empty space, with nowhere to hide
buy a ticket to ride cum-dividend, and slide into the bloodied gloom
see the dead blackbird in the middle of the road
its wings splayed, head crushed, and feathers strewn
as the spectre of the past presents you with a vision of what's to come
watch the corpse face up, although it lies seemingly still
smell the stench, adjust your eyes, millions of creatures move it as one
it lifts its index finger to point at you, the flesh falls off the hand
hear the strange music in this moonlit expanse, I ask you to dance
let me help you lose your mind, tapping your feet to the skeleton band
