He called her snake
she showed him her apple
which he promptly ate
there's trouble in paradise

she writhed and slithered
kissed him on the back of the neck
he said I love you, truly I do
prove it she said, or you and I are through

she watched and smiled with fangs bared
he did his best, longed for a kiss
her split tongue flicking in and out
her poisonous prick a vengeful act

dying for love there is no glory
is there a moral to our story
she shows him an apple again
too late he understands
