Know nothing of your past
although you told me much
a world so different to mine
sometimes it's double Dutch

pictures of your life in mind
fall far short of reality time
the spaces in between the words
I am left to guess the mime

on your liberty I will not trespass
tell me only what I need to know
the superfluous clamour confounds
it's better don't tell just show

holding your face between my hands
the sorrow, laughter, and love appear
the twinkle in your eyes speak volumes
and you, transpose into someone so clear
