Six in the morning
in the kitchen we dance
negligé and pyjama pants

back into bed, enough said
we get up again
for breakfast at ten

head for the beach
for a beer at noon
seagulls squawk over surf's tune

on the way home
a terrace café
coffee, apple pie to delay

time to leave
so soon to arrive
four days without you to survive

falling onto your forehead, a lock of hair
an insignificant, trivial thing
it pulls a string, makes my core sing
