Tainted

She's generous and subliminal,
Untouchable or unreachable.
My stretching is painful
but then I can't let on.
I live off favors
and the way to get them
is not ask them.
In this crooked stance
I am still standing.
Time has become gratifying exertion,
all my feelings submerged in
longful waiting tainted
by the expectation of her generosity.
How much longer before my determination cracks,
before this tainting tumor sickens
my blood right down to my rejecting heart?
I am immune or so I hope.
For once or the first time
I want this to be good and clean,
yet I fight myself and I fight her.
