The Inner Child
She said, don't cry child
don't curl up and hide
they called you ugly
but it is not true
your second mother
one day will tell you
how beautiful you are
dry your tears
you will survive
all your fears
they took your innocence
in the early years
you have reason to be sad
but life will make you glad
do not weep
into your pillow
a blessed hand
saved you from
a death well planned
one day, one day
you will dance barefoot
in the warm sand
I hear you wailing
little girl so lost
the price you pay
dearly it will cost
let me embrace you
don't go into the frost
let my love your heart emboss
as the child slowly disappeared
into the world of her own
she called to her
in dimensions unknown
she reached out her hand
back, into another time zone
but the girl who she was
had left her alone
