bursts of red and gold
feast for eyes
dancing leaves
in precocious winds
crescent moon
in the early skies
we embrace
warm, secure
another season
loving you
nothing to endure
and after fall
when winter
bites our cheeks
I'll just recall
your promise
of another summer
