Suspended at the outskirts of existence
I float in freezing silent endlessness
Hollow words like shooting stars flash by
and fade among the painful remnants
of broken dreams and promises
No certainties, no straws to hold
No guide to show the way
for a weary traveller lead astray
What slender hand will lead me now and
save me from the icy void within
What gentle touch will calm
the tempest in my frightened soul
My destiny unknown, my future dim
I find myself again upon the outer rim
where velvet cloaked and comforting
the end, dear friend, is near and beckoning
