Whilst eating a burrito
I didn't catch Mexican flu
my lover in bed for days
Kung-flu is his malaise, it's new
he warned if I kissed him
Mee-kong flu I might get too
ignored the warning
did what I usually do
now he believes he's got
the latest Yu-kon flu
they terrified me
with Sars, which apparently
came from Mars
or pigs that flew
and chickens that die
sneezing too hard as they do
so virulent
the pesky bird-flu

though mercury in my brain
from all the injections
will slowly drive me insane
take my memorable reflections
will line up with the rest
another shot in the arm
doctor always knows best
no wonder he is all charm
eight euros per syringe
mercury shuttling upward
does not make me cringe
look ahead without alarm
no flu will do me harm
I'm heading for the funny-farm

  het is misschien niet zo bedoeld maar ik moet een beetje lachen, vind het zeer humoristisch opgemaakt, ik denk ook aan allerlei andere dingen als ik dit lees, ken je dat liedje kungfu fighting uit de jaren 70 nog, haha, daar moet ik aan denken en ook aan die tarzan films, You tarzan, me Jane, ja, leuk en grappig, ik hoop dat dit ook zo bedoeld was maar ik vind het een hilarisch gedichtje,

  killea: Actually I did have a flu shot, was sick for a week - arm swelling up as if I were on steroids, so no more shots ever again! As for the mercury in my brain, am blissfully unaware of it yet, though others may beg to differ!
