Nature's nearly come
full circle once again
She has become an ageing lady now
and clothes herself
in multicoloured gowns
Among her stately trunks she's spun
strings of crystal pearls
tenderly caressed
by autumn's gentle sun
From amidst the fleeting mist
over yonder field
the stag cries out its promise
of the youth that spring will yield
Though death may seem
to have Nature in its hold
't Is but a time of rest and peace
and of promises untold
