Running ahead of the wind
cold, cold its breath on my heels
carrying the sacrifices made
wrong turns, lost ideals

exhaustion in my being
stopped for a gulp of air
the storm caught up
overtook, wind didn't care

cringing I cried with fear
it blew around me with ease
running futile, heard a hush, hush
it was only a breeze
