I don't understand 'chat stinging raw' but read 'frozen' in the meaning of a frozen image or a frozen moment.
killea: Appreciate your comments, and although I do not usually explain what I write as I feel it takes the magic out of poetry, I shall make an exception. This senryu has a conscious three-tier interpretation (perhaps more, but that is for the reader to determine) and it is all ready conspicuous in the title; Lunar, Lunar Art and Lunatic.
Lunar: moonlight soothes scary image/natural (trees) shadow boxing/shapes frozen in time.
Lunar Art: moonlight softens phantom-like shadow/moving shadows of couple making out/silhouettes of immobile objects.
Lunatic: romance overcame and dissolved something in the past/unexpected shades of recurrence and pain/cold outlined memory.
