Silence in every room
only the rhythm of my heart
the piercing, noiseless shatter
of crystal tears, falling, falling

candlelight shadows chasing
my de facto Achilles' heal
false security, poison dart
inevitable, stalling, stalling

darkness comes like an old friend
swallowing the warmth of day
the sadness creeps through the gaps
omnipresent, calling, calling….
