Rain on the skylight
since you went away
pitter patter of gemütlichkeit
now a melancholy display

sadness without reason
is the colour of grey
blue is the sinking feeling
without you each day

bottomless depths of emotions
starless nights linger too long
want your body next to mine
feel the throb, rhythmic, strong

spinning wheels of escape
round and round in dreams
gentle whisper in my sleep
trickling over rocks in streams

only when you return
will the peace of your touch
calm the bleating of a soul
