Bitter blue

door killea

When the ache of longing
returns unfulfilled
the hunger of the soul
remains unstilled
when the heart awakens
from the longest sleep
in feelings remembered
from way down deep
the present gone
for a while at least
drowned in memories
give way to the beast
bitter blue tears flow
for what might have been
all that came after, veiled
in nothingness, unseen
and life just an endless bad dream
