The promise in your eyes
a kiss so tender and deep
you stroke my hip and thighs
tonight we will not sleep

we'll welcome the late dawn
we've really nowhere to be
outside it rains, we yawn
have toast and coffee

again deep in the pillows
that hold all our dreams
bedding dips and billows
and time vanishes it seems
