The Fool

Beyond simple words
that once said it all
further than the horizon
unreachable golden ball
depths of what we felt
mortal and eternal
in strengths, our beacons
almost found the kernel
turn around and see
that which weakens
it was always there
and always will be
until cessation to care

again full of sorrow
ebb and flow of the sea
decimated empty tomorrow
though it's all just fantasy
no heart or mind to bother
with any whimsical dreams
fool of my own making
or so it truly seems…
