Golden honey threw sparkles
on the water, shimmering
warmth tenderly kissed my face
to linder and dry my tears

an empathic helper took my hand
held it for a while so I could face
the burning pain of loss
surging defeat had grounded

a vision appeared in the mirror
held up to me by kindness
beyond the wreckage and sorrow
strength smiled through to my face
