Too much

spread out before us
a smorgasbord of scenes
it is but a journey
of endless nightmares
or dreams

when the time has come
to speak, silence prevails
as all the pretty pictures
flits through the brain
the train derails

damages were done
try wipe the slate clean
so much to lose in words
that will not be heard
but eyes have seen

the seal was broken
as it poured with rain
fall over the threshold
crystal palace hides
inner tears again

yet the sun always shines
in her room, a soft touch
she gives moments of peace

in the chair where I sit
it rains too much
