Searching through the myriad
of lost souls in the town
looking for something which
I know cannot be found
in every rubbish bin
broken umbrellas that didn't make it
looking for covered café to drink
time to think, and peacefully sit
stalking through the urban drench
my gut feeling sour, heavy
tight as a wrench
so dark, damp and dreary
holiday makers' lost smiles
start to feel fine in this world of mine
internally laugh at life's trials
