long time I have wondered who he is
today I met him, his name is Louise
a neighbour across the canal
in front of his beautiful heerenhuis
he lives with his son Danny Vera
whose songs hit my soul like Pascal
who lives around the corner a little way
how lucky am I to have neighbours
so talented, famous and grand
as my life takes a turn for the better
again I feel I can stand, small but tall
in the centre of such talent
sucking in the artistic genius
of poets, painters, singers and bands
it's just a meeting, an introduction
and I a mere poet realize it's
just the shifting of my sands
