My darling little one
went on holiday to France
before she left, in the street
we had a jolly, farewell dance
she gave me her favourite mug
so colourful, with a protusion
of a funny ladybird bug
she said I may drink out of it
whilst she was away, a comfort,
not to forget her even a bit
not yet four, child of the sun,
understanding beyond years
she and I remain as one...

innocent, intelligent, is love so true?
