  For me, you have a lot of margin to make your stories a bit longer and elaborated, as the writing is sublime!
  ps's:
  He scramble => He scrambleD
  the boulder he had tried to move was still situated => does situated not need some additions, like 'at the same place'; of course, not being a native speaker (nor reader ;o), could be my English leaves me wanting...:o), so keep that in mind before being to harsh in your reply!
